How to Create a Bonsai Tree From a Nursery Juniper, Part Two

by The Bonsai Tree Care on January 15th, 2010

In Part One we took a nursery juniper and pruned it down to three usable trunks. In Part Two we wire the trunks and do some rough pruning to create the bonsai tree. … bonsai “juniper bonsai” “bonsai care” “bonsai pruning” “bonsai tree care” “bonsai tree pruning” “create bonsai” “how to bonsai”

    Hey Charles

Just wondering if you might give us a lesson on winterizing. How do you do it?

    Thanks, Thad

Ok thank you so much, I will subscribe and ad you as a friend. I really appreciate you taking time out of your day to teach us YouTubers all about bonsai. Thanks so much!

I have two redwood trees in my collection. They are pretty sensitive to hot weather, so I only work on them in the spring. Watch next spring for a redwood video.

Can you make a video on how to make a redwood tree into a bonsai because I bought some seeds and I want to convert it to bonsai once it gets big enough. THANKS!

Thank you for the compliment :) You can get the cut off branches to issue roots, but you must cut them off in the early spring, and put rooting hormone on the cut off ends, and put them in soil, and keep them in the shade, with a dish of water nearby to keep the humidity up.

  7. Xiinga Says:

The branches that you cut-off. can you put them in water and make new roots grow out of them??

    great vid btw! ;)

  9. chasnsx Says:

Not one of these. For an indoor bonsai, see my ficus videos.

    thanks

  12. chasnsx Says:

You can do this with a cedar, but you cannot keep a cedar tree indoors. Hopefully you have a shelf outside your window or a balcony.
