Chinese Elms are great Bonsais trees. They can be kept indoors or outdoors and, they’re very easy to grow. They stay semi-evergreen if kept inside, but are deciduous if kept out all year. Chinese Elms are a great choice for beginners at bonsai because they’re very easy care for and have a predictable growth pattern. They’re very forgiving when pruned. This trees trunk has a gorgeous swaying shape that supports a full, lush canopy of foliage. It looks like a Bonsai should: a miniature version of an age-old tree. A beautiful 12 year old specimen that stands 20 inches tall, this bonsai comes in a classic Bonsai pot with humidity tray included. Chinese Elm – Ulmus parvifolia
General Information: Chinese elm is fast growing, deciduous or evergreen depending on its location, forms a graceful upright rounded canopy with shiny, dark green leathery leaves. elm is moderatly salt tolerant. Several dwarf varieties, sports of Ulmus parvifolia, exist which grow slower than the ordinary Chinese elm but it produces a much finer network of twigs and branches. It is these sports which are used for bonsai.
Family: Ulmaceae.
Lighting: Will grow in full sun or partial shade.
Temperature: Zones 5B – 10A. More restricted zones may apply to some of the dwarf varieties.
Watering: Needs a lot of water.

Sageretias are tender shrubs native to Asia and warmer areas of North America. Extensively grown in China for use as bonsai, Sageretias are evergreen in milder climates but become deciduous in temperate zones when exposed to the cold of winter. Sageretias will survive temperatures just below freezing but it is highly recommended to keep them in conditions that rarely drop below around 10°C to keep them in continual growth. They are excellent house plants. For most parts of Europe and North America this means growing Sageretias indoors from around September to May.
Sageretias have symmetrically arranged shiny, oval mid-green leaves to 1.5cm long, young growth is reddish in colour before it matures. The bark quickly becomes scaly and is a dark-brown in colour. Imported Chinese Bird Plum Bonsai Tree – Sageretias

Product Description

Sageretias are tender shrubs native to Asia and warmer areas of North America. Extensively grown in China for use as bonsai, Sageretias are evergreen in milder climates but become deciduous in temperate zones when exposed to the cold of winter. Sageretias will survive temperatures just below freezing but it is highly recommended to keep them in conditions that rarely drop below around 10°C to keep them in continual growth. They are excellent house plants. For most parts of Europe and North America this means growing Sageretias indoors from around September to May.
Sageretias have symmetrically arranged shiny, oval mid-green leaves to 1.5cm long, young growth is reddish in colour before it matures. The bark quickly becomes scaly and is a dark-brown in colour. In Summer tiny flowers appear in the leaf axils of new shoots and produce large clusters of white followed by small blue berries. Sageretias are slow to form thick trunks and have very fine formative growth; thick-trunked specimens tend to be imported from China where they are field grown.

You will receive a potted, imported Sageretias growing in a 4″ pot and well rooted. They are about 8″ tall with a stylized trunk. Similar to the one pictured above. The trunk diameter is 1″ inch.

Chinese Wisteria (Wisteria sinensis)
The Chinese wisteria is a shade-tolerant vine, but it blooms best when grown in the sun. It prefers a deep, rich loam, has a moderate growth rate and is very easy to grow. The vine is easily pruned to keep it contained. The violet blue flowers, borne in drooping 8-12″ racemes, are produced in late spring or early summer. It will cover a large trellis or arbor very quickly and is beautiful as a focal point to an entrance or porch. Hardy in zone 4-9.
