This shimpaku juniper has been trained its whole life to be a bonsai. The training started when it was very young and its small trunk was wired and curved. Since then, pruning/wiring has been done every year and root pruning every 2 to 3 years. This plant is approximately 25 to 30 years old and was styled by a Japanese Bonsai Master. It is ready to go into a nice bonsai pot this spring. Shimpaku junipers like full sun or very strong filtered light. They are OUTDOOR bonsai so they shouldn’t be kept indoors.
